Cote de Pablo is back on CBS, but not on "NCIS." Tonight she will star in the premiere of a new series, "The Dovekeepers." Find out where to watch the new, two-night miniseries live stream free online via CBS live streaming!

"The Dovekeepers" is based on the bestselling novel by Alice Hoffman and  executive-produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett. According to TVGuide.com, the adaptation tells the story of a group of Jews who escaped to Masada after Jerusalem fell to the Romans in 70 A.D. The events are told from the point of view of a group of "four extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival," according to CBS. These women took care of doves at the settlement and ultimately become involved in various romantic entanglements there.

TVGuide.com reports the episode synopsis: "Series premiere chronicles of the lives of four Jewish women during the Romans' siege of the fortress of Masada in A.D. 73, when more than 900 Jews were able to hold out there for months."

de Pablo stars as Shirah, a woman known as the "Witch of Moab," who is having an affair with Eleazar Ben Ya'ir (Mido Hamada), the leader of the rebels who are fighting against the Roman Army.

"It was such an emotional story, and it's a story about women - strong women, that really follow their heart against what everyone else is saying, what society dictates," de Pablo told TVGuide.com. "They're very brave women, women who were, at the time, rebels in many ways. And I thought, there's a level of synchronicity in this, in the way I've been living my life in the past year. ... That is something I really wanted to explore. I have deep regard for their courage."

Chilean-born actress Cote de Pablo left "NCIS" in 2013 after eight season on the series.
