April Comeback Competition Continues As Girl's Day, BTS Announce Changes To Schedules

With more and more high profile comebacks, April is seeing a change of plans from some Korean musicians.

With multiple high profile comebacks, April is one of the busiest months for K-pop in 2015. However, with the increased competition, some K-pop musical acts have changed their schedules.

The increased competition offers a chance for K-pop acts to prove their worth, but also risks that same competition overcrowding the music charts.

Two groups taking advantage of the heavy competition are taking different paths of actions. Girl group Girl's Day announced a delay from the planned comeback while male idol group BTS also announced a surprise change, a new album at the end of the month.

On April 3, Girl's Day's agency, Dream Tea Entertainment, cited Minah's solo debut and production changes as the reasoning for pushing off Girl's Day's previously announced April comeback. Dream Tea didn't announce a new date, but said that the comeback is expected to take place in May or June.

Girl's Day is one of the most popular girl groups in South Korea, with hit songs "Something" and "Expectation."

While Girl's Day will not make a comeback in April, one of Korea's most popular female acts, Girls' Generation, is releasing a Japanese song in both Japan and Korea in April, and female solo artist BoA will comeback in May. Many other girl groups, including EXID and Mamamoo, are also planning comebacks.  April kicked off with miss A's end-of-month March release topping all Korean music charts.

BTS (Bangtan Boys) will release an album on April 29, announced the boy band's company, Big Hit Entertainment. The group's last album, "Dark and Wild," was released in August 2014.

The idol group debuted in 2013 and became one of the most prominent K-pop artists internationally, winning multiple awards and performing all over the world, including the United States.

BTS will join the competition, facing other popular male acts like JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin Young and SM Entertainment's EXO.

The seven-member group will release a mini album containing nine tracks.
