Best Seoul Fashion Week 2015 Fall/Winter Collections [Blog]

Seoul Fashion Week took place from March 20th to the 25th at Dongdaemun Design Plaza. After writing about the best dressed celebrities that attended the glamorous shows, it is finally time to discuss my favorite 2015 Fall/Winter collections. All you need to know is: bathrobes are in, round glasses are a staple this season, and throw away your colorful clothes because it's all about mixing gray, red and black. The 16 best, in my opinion, collections are presented below in no particular order.

16. The Centaur

If Princess Leia came to our timeline, she'd rock any outfit from The Centaur's collection. Let's see - pink gloves, vintage painting prints sewn onto velvet sweatshirts, round glasses with dangling gold chains, small pouches serving as necklaces, yeah, sign me up! I don't know how to say this, but any item in this collection feels like something an alien space princess from Jupiter Ascending would wear. So basically, if old-school science fiction merged with the modern costume design, you'd get a Centaur outfit walking down a sidewalk in Fifth Avenue. And that is a beautiful thing...

15. Lucky Chouette

If there is one thing Lucky Chouette does well, it's stripes. I don't know how the label makes such an obvious pattern look fresh and modern in every collection, but that's a gift. Another outdated sewing technique that the brand manages to reinvent are ruffles, lots and lots of ruffles. But this collection brought something new to the table that I wasn't expecting. Yes, Lucky Chouette is what you would wear if you were on vacation and needed to seem as though you weren't trying to be insanely fashionable and simply had a naturally trained eye for flawless combinations. But the brand introduced leather skinny jeans with zippers this time around that were very Dominic's Way. I liked it and I want to see more of this side from Lucky Chouette.

14. Mag & Logan

Move! Get out of the way! Mag & Logan is here to trash your hotel room! Does that make sense? Basically, the brand took literal stars and mashed them together with another kind of celestial force to be reckoned with: rockstars. The collection had fringe mini dresses, glitter sprinkled leather jackets, sequined short skirts, chunky boots dangerously studded, platinum hot pants and various other star-embellished apparel and accessory pieces. I'm really starting to love this creative duo.

13. CRES. E DIM.

CRES. E DIM. had one of the most creative collections I have seen in a while. The brand's models walked down the runway wearing mining headlamps and showcased multi-layered coats, tag necklaces, 3D design sweatshirts, and tomboy style pieces that looked like Haider Ackerman and Alexander Wang had a fashion label baby. There was a cool effortlessness to every piece, but at the same time you could see the dedication to create cohesiveness. I feel weird saying this (because I usually just throw it out jokingly when talking about Christina Aguilera's Bionic album) but this collection felt ahead of its time.

12. S=YZ

This collection by S=YZ is absolutely brilliant for so many reasons. Do you need to be on the red carpet in five minutes but you just got out of the shower and are still wearing your bathrobe? What if your coat IS the bathrobe? And thus, you end up paying thousands of dollars for a designer coat-bathrobe-hybrid. Amazing. This collection screamed WHERE-is-my-latte drama. The brand also sent a hat down the runway that looked like an angry lamp, put hair on their sandals, and their sweaters were so long and thick that the models' hands didn't reach the cuffs. Fashion is supposed to be fun and at times ridiculous, this is the perfect example.
