Bruce Jenner's rumored sex change and reality show have made transgender advocates alarmed, said a report from LA Times.

According to the feature, several groups are worried that the frenzy surrounding the supposed gender transition of the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star will be bad for the transsexual community.

"When you make a spectacle out of guessing who is and isn't transgender, it harms real transgender people just trying to go to school or work and trying to live their lives," said LA-based transgender GLAAD spokesman Nick Adams.

Concerned transgender groups pointed out the negative effect of the continuous media coverage surrounding Bruce Jenner's rumored sex change, reality show, and tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer. They also specified how the former Olympian's issues have somewhat given a negative connotation about sex change.

One example that was cited was In Touch magazine's feature about "celebrity scandals of 2014," which listed Bruce Jenner's rumored sex change and upcoming reality show alongside more serious issues such as Donald Sterling's racist rant and the Bill Cosby rape allegations.

"(Such coverage) is harmful in a truly profound way," said transgender activist Parker Molloy.

"The message it sends, especially if you don't know anyone else who is trans, is that you are a joke and you are a freak show."

According to a recent report from Mirror UK, the Bruce Jenner sex change reality show may be on hold amid all his family issues. However, the report clarified that the said docuseries will still happen.

"There's a 99% chance the docuseries will happen," a source revealed about Bruce Jenner's sex change reality show.

Bruce Jenner's sex change reality show is said to debut when he is fully confident about his rumored gender reassignment.

"It will air when he is ready to be open about his transition. But he's acting more and more confident and seems very happy," an insider told People.

"He's being very smart about it and also respectful about his transition. Instead of completely shocking everyone, his changes have been subtle, and his family had the chance to slowly get used to his new looks and life."
