CL Tells New York Magazine The Fader She Loves Being Unrecognized

2NE1's CL is on an international media roll! After posing for New York based magazine Complex, the idol has now been featured in The Fader. For her photoshoot, CL wore a Moschino Barbie shirt and patch-detail jacket. Her blond hair was sleeked back in a posh ponytail and her makeup was the usual blend of chunky cat-eye and thick lashes.

During the accompanying interview, CL discussed how she's enjoying her incognito status in the U.S. "I went to an Usher concert, and it felt so weird because no one was taking care of me," she revealed. "I went with Diplo, but I got lost. I was looking for him for like an hour, but couldn't find him. Everyone was pushing me around, asking me if I'm Japanese, Chinese---it was amazing."

When the topic switched to her upcoming American debut, the star stated, "I don't want a 'good' image. I'm not the standard Asian girl...I think about this a lot: there is not a single Asian pop star who has done this."

The artist also described how preparing for her American album has been different from her creative process for a Korean album. She explained, "Back in Korea, I'm always in the studio with YG people...I'd be given a song, and I'd cut it. But here, I write completely by myself. The last time I recorded at the house, I just invited my friends over to feel a little more natural. I'm feeling artistic."
