Korean Indie Pop Acts 10cm And Okdal To Hold Collaboration Concerts In New York, Washington DC This June

K-indie fans, rejoice! Two of the most popular indie groups in South Korea are headed to New York City this summer for a collaboration concert.

Earlier this month, South Korean indie pop groups 10cm and Okdal announced plans for a New York City concert on June 5 and a Washington DC performance on June 6, 2015.

On April 13, a Facebook event page created by the concert organizers Urbansider, a New York-based production group, announced the official details of the collaboration concert between two of Seoul's best-known independent acts.

The concert will be held at The Concert Hall at Ethical Culture on West 64th Street in Manhattan's Central Park West area, a first-time K-pop concert venue in the city. The show is scheduled to run from 7:30 to 9:30pm.

Tickets for the concert are available now at six different price levels through the Urbansider website and range in price from $50 for the furthest away seats to $195 for the VIP package seats.

The following night, the two acts will head down to Washington DC where they will perform at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium (details to follow - stay tuned).

10cm is an acoustic duo comprised of Kwon Jung Yeol, who is the main vocalist and plays percussion, and Yoon Chul Jong, who plays the guitar. The group's name refers to the height difference between Kwon and Yoon.

The pair shot to fame in 2011 with their hit single "Americano" (although officially released the year prior) and dropped their third studio album, 3.0, last November.

The group previously performed in the United States last year when they played at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Female indie pop duo Okdal is made up of longtime friends Kim Yoonju and Park Sejin and they are well known for their fun and sentimental folk-pop songs.  The pair gained mainstream traction with the release of their song "Oksangdalbit" that was featured on the soundtrack for the popular MBC television drama Pasta.

In 2013, Okdal collaborated with K-pop boy band VIXX for the song "Girls, Why?" and have since been a mainstay in the Korean music scene.
