SM Entertainment Confirms Dispute With EXO Member Tao's Father Over Leg Injury

With the exit of members Kris and Luhan, and the continued rumors of the exit of other Chinese memories, it almost seems like EXO is stuck in a loop of controversy.

Now it seems as though the member suffering the most is Tao.

After continued rumors of an exit, Tao's activities in EXO are once again under a microscope. Allegedly his father created a Weibo account and wrote a long, heartfelt letter about his desire to bring Tao back to China for health concerns. EXO's label SM Entertainment recently responded to the news of the Weibo letter, stating that they are trying to work with Tao's father to find a constructive solution.

"We are currently in the process of continuously discussing the various activities for Tao in China with Tao and his father, it's unfortunate that Tao's father would post such an article. Nevertheless, through discussions with Tao's father, we hope to explore his [Tao's] developmental direction [to find a solution through a constructive way]," said an SM Entertainment representative (via Koreaboo).

Although some are still skeptical about the Weibo account that only appeared to post the letter, fans have noted that Tao began to follow the account, suggesting it is indeed his father. In the letter, it was revealed that Tao's family has worried extensively about Tao's ongoing leg injury. Specifically, the letter points out that on several occasions Tao performed despite "back pains, body pains, and leg pains."

In fact, Tao's leg injury recently resulted in Tao's absence from EXO's 2015 comeback "Call Me Baby" promotions, suggesting a severity not previously considered.

Although the situation seems to be escalating, the letter did confirm Tao's love and support for remaining a member of EXO. Tao has previously stated he has no intention of leaving the group, perhaps suggesting the difficult situation will soon be resolved.
