2PM's Jun.K, GOT7, SISTAR Rock The Stage For KCON Japan 'M! Countdown' Special
Thousands of K-pop fans filled Saitama Super Arena to watch great performances from their favorite artists on Wednesday, April 22 as part of a special taping of 'M! Countdown' during the inaugural KCON Japan.
KCON, a yearly convention dedicated to all things Hallyu (Korean Wave), hit Tokyo for the first time and included a special concert featuring Park Bo Ram, Kangnam, GOT7, INFINITE, SISTAR, and 2PM member Jun.K, among many other talented stars.
The convention was attended by 15,000 K-pop fans from around Japan, according to a report from Yonhap and featured a full day of workshops, fan events, star meet-and-greet sessions, and of course, the finale concert jam-packed with Hallyu stars. Sixty-five businesses also participated in KCON Japan, selling Korean merchandise to interested Japanese buyers.
This is the first time KCON has expanded beyond its Los Angeles origins since its inception in 2012. The L.A. convention also recently announced it would be expanding to three days this year and take over a new venue, the Staples Center.
