Solo Album Rumors Ignite For Kris Wu As EXO Controversy Continues With Tao And Lay

Amidst controversies surrounding his former bandmates, EXO's Kris Wu may be moving on as a solo artist after all.

On Wednesday, Chinese producer Gao Xiao Song conducted an interview with Nandu Media, where he reportedly revealed that he had been working with Kris to create his first solo album. According to Koreaboo, Gao Xiao Song also said on the social media platform Weibo that the album would include English songs to highlight Kris's language skills.

While this is not the first time rumors of a solo album has emerged for Kris since becoming inactive as a part of EXO, the timing could set an example other Chinese EXO members who could be leaving the group.

On Wednesday, Tao's father confirmed through interviews and an online letter to the public that the Chinese rapper has agreed to leave EXO due to injuries and health issues.

"Tao has ultimately agreed to leave," said Tao's father to SINA according to allkpop.

"The main reason is due to his filiality. My son's treatment is the first priority and as for the rest, that's something Tao will have to think about and make his choice. For three years after his debut, Tao appeared on many programs that held a risk to harm his health. My heart hurt seeing that the agency did not properly take care of my son's injuries each time."

EXO fans also fear that the only active Chinese member of the boy band, Zhang Yi Xing (Lay), will leave the group as well.

That same day, an account belonging to a man claiming to be an employee of SM C&C wrote about the news of Tao leaving EXO and added that EXO's final Chinese member Lay will also leave the group. The Twitter account, @no1position, belonging to Nam Hyun Joon was deleted shortly after the tweet was popularized by fans on Korean social media sites.
