CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa To Make Cameo Appearance On Chinese Sitcom

Due to his growing popularity in Mainland China, CNBLUE singer and actor Jung Yong Hwa has been signed on to appear in the Chinese online mini-series titled Diors Man, reports Allkpop.

Yong Hwa will play as the friend of Da Peng, the main character in Diors Man, which is played by Dong Chengpeng, who also serves as the show's creative director and writer.

Representatives from the show were enthusiastic about casting Yong Hwa because of his popularity among Chinese viewers as well as his familiarity with the local culture.

"Yong Hwa understands the Chinese culture and is one of the representatives of Hallyu. His hard work and the demand [of him] from Chinese fans helped with us invite him on the show," representatives for Diors Man reportedly said.

Yong Hwa has been getting more offers from Chinese producers to make an appearance on their shows. Earlier this month, he was invited to attend the 15th Music Feng Yun Awards, considered as the Chinese version of the Grammy Awards.

Cognizant of his rising fame in China, Yong Hwa has been performing concerts for and interacting with Chinese fans.

He recently hosted a fan meeting in Beijing and has been updating his account on Weibo, a popular Chinese microblogging website, with messages addressed to his Chinese fans.

Yong Hwa's solo album One Fine Day has been received well in China, with the singer taking home two awards at the 2015 Weibo Star Awards held last March in the Chinese territory of Hong Kong.
