FTISLAND Named Most Popular Band In Asia With Cool Music Asia Festival Award

South Korea's first rock group FTISLAND was awarded the title of Most Popular Band in Asia during a recent music event in China.

On Thursday, April 23, the Cool Music Asia Festival Award was held in China. During the festival, FTISLAND was awarded one of the three major awards that were given that night, earning the distinction of Most Popular Band in Asia.

The honor was given to FTISLAND after their latest singles "Pray" and "To the Light" topped various online music charts in China. Both songs are a part of the group's fifth album I Will.

Despite being honored at the festival, the members of FTISLAND could not attend event in person. They did, however, send a video message to thank their fans in China for the award and continued support.

"It's an honor that the music we personally created and performed has been given such a great award. We will try our best to become the band that doesn't taint the title of the band that represents Asia," said the members.

The Cool Music Asia Festival is an award ceremony hosted by two of China's biggest music websites, Kuwo and Kugou.

FTISLAND is a five member Korean pop-rock group that consist of members Lee Hongki, Choi Jong Hoon, Lee Jae Jin, Song Seung Hyun, and Choi Min Hwan.

The group is currently preparing for their Asian tour which will kick off on May 23 in Taiwan. Japan, China, and other Asian countries are expected to be included on their tour.
