"Furious 7" actress Michelle Rodriguez rocked her usual boyish look during her latest outing at the Tribeca Film Festival opening night. The former girlfriend of British stunner Cara Delevingne, meanwhile, defended the hiring of female directors for big budgeted films.

The 36-year-old "Furious 7" actress rocked a vintage motorcycle jacket paired with black top and black skinny jeans at the New York City event, The Daily Mail said in a report.

The "Machete" actress completed her look with a pair of pale brown ankle boots as she opted to go make-up free to the red carpet occasion.

Cara Delevingne's ex-girlfriend Michelle Rodriguez's usual look was far different from her "Furious 7" premiere night ensemble wherein she wore a red gown with plunging neckline.

The "Resident Evil" actress seemed dressed to impress for the premiere night of the much-anticipated action movie, which also stars Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Jordana Brewster and the late Paul Walker.

Meanwhile, the "Furious 7" actress took to Twitter to air her call to give chance to female directors to take part in big films, Just Jared said in a report.

Michelle Rodriguez said in her tweet, "My friend Leigh sent me this text: "ps Gettin' reeeeeaaal tired of female directors FINALLY being hired on for tentpoles, only to have to drop out b/c they're not getting the respect they deserve."

The actress added, "Only to be replaced by a dude who probably does. First Brenda Chapman on Brave, then Patty Jenkinson Thor 2, and now Michelle MacLaren on Wonder Woman."

In response to her friend's predicament, Cara Delevingne's ex-girlfriend said, "Well Leigh if anything comes of a Hilary Clinton presidency as foolish as it sounds, would be a new found respect for 51 percent of the American population which are women."

"You'd be surprised what that symbolism does Hollywood folk and their investment in the fabric of our culture...So I say give these women a shot, you can't loose with a massive budget and an A-Team to protect your franchise." she added.

Michelle Rodriguez, who is an open bisexual, has recently revealed that she wanted to pursue a career as a screenwriter in the future. She also wants to venture into directing.
