'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Finale Spoilers: BAU's New Case Hits Home; Kate's Niece Nabbed By Predator

Spoilers for the finale of "Criminal Minds" season 10 will hit close to home as Kate's niece is kidnappped. But the whole thing is much more than a simple abduction.

Showrunner Erica Messer told Entertainment Weekly that the kidnapping will turn the BAU on its head.

She explained, "By the end of episode 22, we do a mini cliffhanger in that we know that Meg and her best friend are being kidnapped by the guy we saw in the premiere. [The finale] is our team fighting for one of our own to get her loved one back."

The synopsis teased "Criminal Minds" season 10 finale spoilers as it reads, "When Kate's niece Meg and her best friend are kidnapped, the BAU suspects an online predator engaged in sex trafficking."

In another interview with Zap2it, Messer said that there would be no two-hour finale this year.

"But the end of episode 22 will have a cliffhanger that will play out in episode 23, which is our finale this year," Messer said. "We will bring back the creepy, Internet stalker guy from the premiere. That story will be tied together."

In the last episode, fans saw Kate's niece, Meg, and Markayla heading out to what they thought was a concert with a Bobby.

Bobby sent them a message that he would meet them at the venue and that his mother will drive them there. Meg and Markayla went into the van and into their nightmares.

Messer promised that the finale would be a very heavy episode on the part of Kate, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt.

"The BAU discovers the auction site the audience got a glimpse of back in the season premiere, and Hotch realizes that they're selling victims to serial killers. Will they bring both girls home safe?" Buddy TV wonders.

"Criminal Minds" season 10 finale airs on Wednesday, May 6 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS network.
