The Met Gala is one of the most glamorous fashion events of the year. The annual fundraising celebration, which is hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, brings together some of the most celebrated stars from the big screen and behind-the-scenes, in the name of art and philanthropy.

Where else do fashion designers, like Marc Jacobs, talk casually with cinema stars, like Jennifer Lawrence, while clad in runway apparel and bathing in an endless stream of paparazzi flashes? Next to them, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour has a conversation with American rapper Kanye West. It's one of the most surreal events of the year as well.

This year's theme was "China: Through the Looking Glass." A beautiful exhibit was prepared to show China's impact on traditional and modern Western fashion. Among this year's A-list guests were Korean singer-actor Rain and former EXO member Kris (Wu Yi Fan).

Kris shared his Met Gala experience with Vogue China. The magazine followed the actor as he got dressed for the big event in his bedroom, greeted fans outside his hotel before stepping into his luxury ride, and then walked down the red carpet with other fashionistas. He wore a white blazer, black pants and a matching bow-tie to the red carpet. All of his apparel and accessory pieces were by Givenchy.

Meanwhile, Rain's Met Gala experience was mostly shared with fans thanks to accessories brand MCM. The super star walked the red carpet in a custom-made MCM tuxedo and brand-emblem dress shoes. According to MCM's official website, the event marked his debut as MCM's official brand ambassador for Greater China and South East Asia.

During the event, Rain snapped a photo with Still Alice Oscar winner Julianne Moore and Chinese actresses Li Bingbing and Fan Bingbing.
