Girls' Generation Prepares New Album As Fans Anticipate Solo Debut From Taeyeon, TaeTiSeo Comeback

The Girls' are back, according to Korean news reports.

On May 6, Sports Donga reported three promotional cycles for the eight members of one of K-pop's most popular acts, Girls' Generation. The girl group will kick things off in the second half of 2015, after coming back in the first half with a Japanese single.

The SM Entertainment act will begin promotions in June with a group comeback according to the report, which will then be followed by a solo debut from one member and a comeback from a subunit.

Sports Donga reported that Girls' Generation will release their fifth album in June, the group's first Korean album following the departure of Jessica Jung from Girls' Generation in 2014. This will be the group's first full length album since 2013's "I Got A Boy."

Taeyeon, leader and one of the main vocalists of Girls' Generation, will allegedly debut as a solo singer shortly after Girls' Generation makes their group comeback. Sports Donga reported that her debut as a soloist was postponed while Girls' Generation prepared for their comeback.

Prior to her official solo debut, Taeyeon sang for numerous soundtracks and featured on songs with other artists.

Along with the group comeback and Taeyeon's solo release, the report revealed Girls' Generation's subunit; Girls' Generation-TTS (also known as TaeTiSeo) will round out the year with a comeback. The unit includes Taeyeon, and Girls' Generation's other main vocalists, Tiffany and Seohyun.

SM Entertainment has not confirmed the Sports Donga report or any Korean promotions from the girl group for 2015. In February, the company denied rumors that Girls' Generation would make a Korean comeback in May.

Girls' Generation last made a Korean comeback with "Mr.Mr" in 2014.
