Natalie Portman ‘Disappointed’ In Marriage To Husband, ‘Black Swan’ Choreographer Benjamin Millepied?

Natalie Portman sat down for a very blunt interview with Hollywood Reporter to discuss everything from her Hebrew directorial debut,  'A Tale of Love and Darkness,' to her relationship with her husband, the choreographer of "Black Swan," Benjamin Millepied. But is their marriage going through a rocky phase?

Natalie Portman, 33, married French ballet dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, 37, in 2012, after they met on the set of "Black Swan" in 2010. They share a 3-year-old son, Aleph. In November, Portman picked up and moved her to Paris to follow her husband, who accepted a job with the Paris Opera Ballet.

When asked about life with Millepied, Portman told the Hollywood Reporter, "The disappointments are always in myself, and like, when you're faced day to day with someone looking at you, it's like a mirror that you have to yourself, and you can see your own good behavior and bad behavior. And it's a beautiful challenge to be the best person in the mirror that you can be. I mean, I don't beat myself up over it, but I'm not always as generous as I feel like I could be."

While it doesn't sound like their marriage is necessarily falling apart, it does sound like there some things that Portman and Millepied may need to work on.

One thing's for sure: Portman doesn't exactly feel at home in Paris. But maybe that's not such a bad thing for the Oscar-winning actress.

"I've been to Paris so much in my life that I felt [at first] like it's very similar, and then when you live in a place, you start realizing how culturally different we are, deeply culturally different."

"I like being a stranger in a place," she added. "You're kind of an outsider, and I think that's what makes you. It's the only way I've ever known."
