T-ARA's Eunjung Explains The Meaning Behind Her 'ELSIE' Stage Name

T-ARA's Eunjung appeared in 1theK's special #hashtag interview show to promote her latest single "I'm Good." The versatile singer discussed her blind concept, creating a musical choreography for a ballad, and her working experience when collaborating with K.Will.

When asked the meaning behind her new stage name ELSIE, Eunjung replied, "This makes me really shy. The meaning of ELSIE is 'Promise to God.' It's one of the pretty names with noble image. Also, it means liveliness and cheerfulness. It has two meanings. So I chose the name that has all good meanings."

Eunjung also revealed other possible stage names she considered. She jokingly answered, "Benjamin? Because I look like a sister of Jasmine, the female character in Aladdin."

When it came time to describe how her solo performances would be different than her group projects, Eunjung stated that the word 'feminine' was key. She explained, "I'm in charge of the boyish concept in T-ARA and I have to be a powerful member. But as a solo, instead of those looks, I will show a more lyrical, feminine and emotional side."

Despite her lively personality, Eunjung disclosed that nowadays she prefers relaxing hobbies. She stated, "I really want to take flower arrangement lessons, so I'm looking for one now. I tried one once and it was really fun." The idol then proudly showed off a picture of her creation on her phone.
