Carrie Underwood news reported how the "Something i the Water" singer leads the 2015 CMT Awards nominees list.

According to a report from Rolling Stones, the country star has the most number of bids in the 2015 CMT Awards with five nominations in three categories.

Carrie Underwood's "Something in the Water" and "Little Toy Guns" are both nominated in the best Female Video category.

The blond singer also has two bets for the Video of the Year category. One is for Carrie Underwood's solo track "Something in the Water," while the second is for her collaboration with Miranda Lambert called "Somethin' Bad."

Prior to learning about her bids for the 2015 CMT Awards, Carrie Underwood defended "Something in the Water" and her other songs that sang about Christianity.

"After I released 'Jesus Take the Wheel,' people started saying, 'Oh, it's kind of risky. You're coming out with a religious song,'" she said, reported by According to Esquire.

"And I was thinking, 'Really?' I grew up in Oklahoma, I always had a close relationship with God."

"I never thought it was risky in the least. If anything, I thought it was the safest thing I could do," she added.

The blond singer also told CMT News about her song "Little Toy Guns," which is also nominated for a CMT.

"If you didn't pay attention to the lyrics at all, you would just think, 'Wow, this is like a cool rockin' song,' but the lyrics are actually quite serious," Carrie Underwood said about "Little Toy Guns."

"The storyline is basically about a little girl who hears her parents arguing, and she - in her words - wishes that they were fake like plastic, like little toy guns and they didn't actually hurt and didn't hurt each other and didn't hurt her."

Carrie Underwood also made the music video differently.

"I don't want to follow the story exactly. And I didn't want it to be too serious. I just really want it to be relatable," she explained.
