Adam Lambert's 'Underground' All About His Heartache? Queen's Current Frontman Shares Thoughts On 'American Idol' Cancellation

Adam Lambert revealed his heartaches as he dropped another single, "Underground." Meanwhile, the Queen frontman weighed in on the cancellation of "American Idol," which he won in season 8.

MTV News took note of the lyrics of Adam Lambert's "Underground" which reads, "When you go, when you go, it's like I put my life on the line, so what?/When you go, when you go, I'm trippin' but I'm pretending I'm fine, so don't."

The chorus added, "I'm hooked, I can't cut you off, In my blood, I'm gonna say it now/I want you, I need you, I want you to take me underground."

The article pointed out that the beat of Adam Lambert's "Underground," "pulsates and builds over a moody piano."

"Lambert shows his sonic dexterity while pining for love to return to him," it added.

Adam Lambert also recently dropped "Ghost Town," which is another cut from his album "The Original High."

The Queen frontman told MTV, "I don't think I've ever been in more of an extreme close-up in my entire life so you, the viewer, get to be right up in my face and see what I'm going through. It was a little scary. I don't think I've ever felt that vulnerable on camera before."

Meanwhile, Adam Lambert weighed in on the cancellation of "American Idol" after 15 seasons next year.

"They had a great run. And thank you, Idol, because I wouldn't be here without you," Queen frontman Adam Lambert said per Billboard.

FOX COO Joe Early said during a press call that cancelling "American Idol" was not an easy decision.

"American Idol has been such a vital part of Fox for its run and we spent a lot of time talking with producers about the future of American Idol," he said.

"Collectively, we all arrived at the conclusion that it was time to bring the show to an end, but a way that felt special and celebratory and treated the show the way it deserved to be treated."

The FOX executive promised more surprises next year or as he called it, "a true season-long celebration."
