YG Entertainment Artists Big Bang, Psy And 2NE1 Visit China As Holograms

YG Entertainment artists Big Bang, Psy, and 2NE1 met their Chinese fans through a hologram concert.

With Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning's support, YG Entertainment and Next Interactive K (NIK) launched a digital theme park named Play K-pop in Quzhou, China on May 18.

NIK is a hologram content production and distribution company jointly established by D'strict Holdings Inc., YG Entertainment, KT, and Paradise Group. NIK focuses on creating entertainment contents using technologies such as hologram, virtual reality, and 3D.

Play K-Pop is the first K-pop digital theme park to be launched as a Korea-China collaboration project, and it's expected to spread a new kind of K-pop fever in China. Play K-pop is an indoor theme park comprised of shops and digital attractions. Chinese fans will be able to meet their favorite YG artists in lifelike holograms and enjoy performances such as Big Bang's "Fantastic Baby" and "Bad Boy," Psy's "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman," 2NE1's "I Am The Best" and "Fire," and G-Dragon's "Awake."

In addition, the fans will be able to participate in the concert themselves with the park's technology that will transmit their photos and videos on stage in real time, allowing the fans to "interact" with the artists. The artists' costumes, props, and concert equipments will also be displayed at Play K-pop along with the artists' handprints and life-sized figures.

YG Entertainment and NIK will launch another Play K-pop park at Beijing's National Stadium at the end of May and continue expanding throughout China. In Korea, the park will be established at Jejudo's Jungmun Resort in June and additional parks will be launched in Japan and Southeast Asian countries in the future.
