Xiumin Becomes Latest EXO Member To Expand Into Acting

EXO member Xiumin is in talks to take on his first acting role alongside Yoo Seung Ho in the upcoming movie Kim Sun Dal.

SM Entertainment announced on May 19 that Xiumin has been offered a role in Kim Sun Dal, a movie adaptation of the eponymous novel set in the Joseon era.

There are conflicting reports on the nature of Xiumin's role in the movie.

Xiumin was offered a supporting role as the younger brother of the titular character played by Yoo Seung Ho, who is the leader of a group of fraudsters, reports Allkpop.

Meanwhile, KPopHerald says Xiumin will instead play a close friend that idolizes the main character.

Talks between the movie producers and Xiumin's camp are said to be going positively.

"We are currently positively reviewing Xiumin's participation for Kim Sun Dal," SM Entertainment reportedly said, reports Koreaboo.

Aside from Yoo Seung Ho, veteran actor Go Chang Suk and veteran actress Ra Mi Ran are reportedly attached to the project.

Filming for Kim Sun Dal is said to start next month.

Xiumin is the latest EXO member to take on acting. EXO leader Suho recently signed on to star in the film "Glory Day" while member D.O. earned acting nods for his breakout role in "Cart".

Former EXO members Luhan and Kris, who have been asked to enter into forced arbitration with SM Entertainment over contract issues - have also starred in movies in China.
