History Channel And U of Oklahoma Offer Online Course ‘United States, 1865 To The Present’

History Channel and University Of Oklahoma will offer a revolutionary online course called "United States, 1865 To The Present." Three condensed sessions will offer a unique trip through America's rich past in a flexible, affordable and interactive way to learn U.S. history.

This summer, A+E Network's History Channel and University Of Oklahoma invite students to take a trip through America's past with an online, multimedia-enriched course. "United States, 1865 to the Present" will be offered this summer in three condensed sessions: June 8 (4 weeks), June 29 (7 weeks) and July 7 (7 weeks). 

"United States, 1865 to the Present" was first offered this past January to rave reviews. The course brings together the resources and talents of one of world's top television networks, the History Channel, award-winning professor, renowned historian and best-selling author, Dr. Steve Gillon, and OU, one of the country's leading institutions of higher education, to present stimulating new ways of learning about the past. 

"United States, 1865 to the Present"  was designed by an accredited academic team from OU, the innovative course features professionally-produced video lectures from the History Channel that look and feel like documentaries, alongside quizzes, independent discussion groups and social interactions between students and professor. 

"United States, 1865 to the Present" was built on OU's proprietary Janux platform, "United States, 1865 to the Present" is taught within an interactive learning community allowing students the opportunity to enjoy the course anywhere and anytime.  Professor Gillon's lectures are addressed directly to those watching online, imparting a personal touch not found in similar courses.
