Queen Supportive Of Adam Lambert’s Solo Career; ‘The Original High’ Singer Gushes Over His Mom

Queen's Brian May said the band is on a short break from tours right now as frontman Adam Lambert is working on his solo career. Meanwhile, the "The Original High" singer gushed over the fashion style of his mother.

In an interview with Gig Wise, the legendary guitarist said there are no plans to launch new material for Queen and Adam Lambert.

"Not at the moment anyway, we might do," he said. "At the moment we're watching with interest while Adam pursues his solo career, and it seems to be going very well."

"He's an amazing, amazing artist, and there's no getting away from that. It's very interesting to watch him develop."

The future rock hall of famer also said that despite the very successful worldwide tour for Queen+Adam Lambert starting last year, the rest of the band understood that the "The Original High" singer won't be with them all the time.

"That would be so wrong for us to just envelop him and never let him go off and do anything else. So it's very important that his own career is progressing now," he said. "We're looking forward to being back together in September to do Rock In Rio, and some dates in Argentina and Venezuela, I believe."

Meanwhile, the Queen frontman-known for his flamboyant style-credited the influence of his mom, Leila, an interior designer.

"I remember in high school, there was a period of time where we were hanging out a lot and we were doing a lot of shopping," Adam Lambert told Leila for People magazine.

"You got to a point where you said to me, 'I'm sick of all my clothes, I'm stuck.' And I was like, 'That's all I need to hear. We're doing a makeover!' I definitely get my eye for style from her."
