Eddy Kim and Mamamoo's Solar Announce Collaboration Produced By 'Some' Composer

A solo artist and girl group member are poised to be the vocals behind 2015's next hit duet.

Eddy Kim and Mamamoo's Solar will release "Coffee & Tea" in South Korea on May 28. The collaboration was produced by Kim Do Hoon, and is the first song Kim is releasing that he has not had a hand in creating.

Both vocalists are renowned for their vocal skills and collaborating for the first time for a project album produced by one of South Korea's top hitmakers.

Solar is the leader and main vocalist of Mamamoo, an up-and-coming vocally talented girl group, while Kim gained popularity in South Korea after appearing on Mnet's Superstar K4 in 2012.

This is Kim's third collaboration with a female vocalist, after previously working with soloists BoA and Lim Kim.

The song "Coffee & Tea" is produced by Kim Do Hoon, and will appear on his fourth project album, "Dokkun Project."

Along with the Eddy Kim and Solar collaboration, Kim Do Hoon's hits include SoYou and JunngiGo's immensely popular song "Some" featuring Lil Boi. Kim also composed CNBLUE's "I'm a Loner" and K.Will's "Please Don't."

Kim released a behind the scenes video prior to the release of the song, raising anticipation of the release. The video showed Eddy Kim acting as a barista in a coffee house, and was well received by fans of both singers.

"Two great vocals, [I'm] looking forward to it!" wrote Lucy Cai on Mamamoo's official Facebook page.

Kim is currently promoting his second album, "Sing Sing Sing" and holding solo concerts in Seoul on May 29 and 30.
