SHINee member Jonghyun showed his sweet side during a recent fan signing event when he wrote a heartwarming message that was meant to lift the spirits of an emotional fan, reports Koreaboo.

Based on an online account posted online on May 28, a SHINee fan felt self-conscious and clammed up before Jonghyun when the idol asked for her name so he could sign it. The fan was ashamed to state her name, but eventually gave it after some time.

The fan then began to cry as she remembered how listening to Jonghyun's radio show Blue Night had given her comfort.

A SHINee manager then began to usher the crying fan to move forward but the concerned Jonghyun tried to cheer up the fan by mouthing the words "Don't cry" as well as poking her playfully.

"I was really having a mental breakdown so I couldn't tell SHINee all I wanted to say that I planned and went back to my seat to wait, then Jonghyun wrote something and a staff member brought the note over for him," recounted the fan.

The note from Jonghyun read: "Don't cry. It's a pretty name. It's other people who are foolish. You are incredible."

The fan felt thankful for Jonghyun's kind words. "It's embarrassing, but at the time it felt like all the times that I've gotten hurt because of my name were suddenly getting healed."
