New York Korean Fashion Festival Shows Off Korean and Local Fashion Designers!

In conjunction with New York Fashion Week, the Korean Apparel Manufacturers Association of Greater New York (KAMA) hosted the New York Korean Fashion Festival on February 13th at the Yotel Hotel on 42nd St.

KAMA brings in the fashion fest to shed light on Korean and local fashion designers in the city, as well as young aspring ones in college.

"To secure opportunity and expand advancement for Korean fashion related companies to New York, which is the center of the world's fashion, is the main purpose of the show. Also to raise brand awareness..." said NYKoreanFashionFest.com

Around 4 pm, exhibitors Soo Kei, Greedilous by Yoon Hee, Heidi, Yellow Ladybird, Jinny Kim New York, and UZ showed off their collections on the 4th floor of Yotel where the fashion show was held.

A group of male and female models walked the runway flaunting the designers' Fall/Winter '13 collections every half hour to make sure guests wouldn't miss out on the exhibit.

In between off-times of the fashion show, pop-up boutiques consisting of designs from the exhibitors were found in rooms beside the runway, giving a hands-on experience for guests to check out the collections up close and personal.

Promoting Korean and New York fashion designers weren't the only thing on the agenda. A hanbok fashion show was also held to show off the intricate designs of the traditional Korean wardrobe.

At the end of the night, KAMA held their scholarship contest which awarded one of the 15 college fashion designers.
