An Argentine woman was confronted by an angry crowd on Thursday when she married her twin sister's convicted killer.

Much to the horror of her family members and neighbor's alike; 23-year-old Edith Casas exchanged vows with Victor Cingolani claiming he is innocent of the crime.

A crowd gathered on Thursday outside the civil registry office where the ceremony took place and threw eggs and stones while Cingolani allowed out of prison for the wedding, was handcuffed and taken to prison immediately to continue his 13-year sentence.

Cingolani, 28 was convicted June of last year, the murder occurred two years ago and he was found as a "willing participant" in the killing. He claims his innocence and sated that he will be pardoned on appeal.

The body of Johana Casas was discovered with two gunshots in the chest in a field in the town of Pico Truncado in southern Santa Cruz province in 2010.

Cingolani's sister and brother-in-law attended the ceremony as witnesses for the 20-minute ceremony but Edith's relatives shunned the service.

The bride's mother, Marcelina del Carmen Orellana sought to block the wedding not agreeing with her daughter's decision, however a judge found her capable of making her own decisions.

"I've always said that she is threatened by the Cingolani family; I'm afraid that something might happen to her because he is a killer and a manipulator," she told local media.
