K-Pop Review: B.A.P. - ONE SHOT

THE WARRIORS ARE BACK!

Last year's strong rookies have made it to their first year in the industry. Going through their rookie year for nine-months of comebacks and activities; they haven't really caught their time for a break.

Quick moment please! I want to make an argument that even though it's nice to expect a comeback within a few months integer; I fear that the fans (B.A.P.'s Babies) will be accustomed to that pattern. Now it's fine to have at least two to three comebacks per year (four if they're just working hard). B.A.P. Are overworked pretty much since last year with their debut with "Warrior." Then in sequence, "Power," "No Mercy," "Crash," "Stop It" and then just last month with "Rain Sound." Not to mention with their domestic and international activities.

So TS Entertainment, (if you any of your representatives are reading) I can speak for a number of the fans to ask for the boys to have a break from the back to back promotions.

The comeback has that signature edge that is completely welcomed, particularly for this group. "Stop It" and "Crash" were cute for sure. Gravitating more on the uncomfortable cutesy "approachable" concepts just doesn't really fit with their favored aggressive appeal.

Even though the bleached blond hairstyles have been put on hiatus, the transformation and evolution is back in the right direction as the group progresses in the industry.

After finally being able to sit down and put my full attention to both the music video(s) and the mini-album, I can see that the level of intensity skyrocketed. Along with my satisfaction. B.A.P. are the manly and intimidating group they are meant to be since day one.

So now our warriors released their new mini-album in ONE SHOT. The seven minute music video grasp much attention to the action packed video and mini-album.

The video plot reminds me of action packed modern day gangsters movies such as "Fast in the Furious" (the first one of course.) [Please excuse me if you think that I'm wrong with my lacking cinematic knowledge.] Unlike like other music videos such as, Block B's Nanlina where it's just a bit off by a few feet.

Unfortunately, I saw some errors that many would have to replay the video. Especially with the battle frenzy. It takes one bullet to end one life. With all the staged bullets, the acting should have been more realistic for the fight scene. It's not reasonable to me that the members jump out of their covered shields in the open where they will be hit in an instant.

Yet I congratulate of for the success of the joke of gun failure in the K-Pop community. The arms actually work!

Many fans also made an issue of the two endings.

One, where hostage Youngjae wasn't able to reunite with B.A.P. after the exchange. And the alternative of Youngjae showing his true intentions being a police official betraying B.A.P. to complete his mission. If I had to pick what ending should have picked, I would have picked the second alternative. Regardless of the cunning intentions, the flashback showed more of his character profiling and his relationship with B.A.P. .

My only comment is to commemorate overall is that I'm satisfied of the comeback and mini-album. I say to definitely listen to "PUNCH" and "COMA" off the album.

With Himchan's hand injury, the rest of B.A.P. are still performing in his absence. They still perform strong and powerful with signature dynamic choreography. Himchan have a speedy recovery so the fans can cheer you on.

Check out their latest performances and their behind the scenes of the music video!
