'Avengers' To The Rescue In New 'Ant-Man' Posters, New TV Spot Released!

"Ant-Man" is getting a little help from his friends in the latest poster set released.

As published on Screen Rant, the first "Ant-Man" poster showsthe miniscule superhero on the shoulder of Iron Man. On the other, he's on top of Thor's hammer. The last, on top of Captain American's shield. All the "Ant-Man" posters bear the line "No shield. No hammer. No problem." Tony Stark, Thor and Captain America's accounts even tweeted about their "Ant-Man" poster to give their little superhero friend a boost.

Even in the new TV spot released, Avengers was mentioned when "Ant-Man" portrayed by Paul Rudd was told of putting on his suit.

"I think our first move should be to call the Avengers," he said in the TV spot as quoted by Just Jared. "I know, it sounded ridiculous even as I said it."

Scott Mendelson calls the move on the "Ant-Man" poster set a "Lilo and Stitch style marketing" in his article on Forbes.

"It's great marketing, and it reminds me of the terrific initial teasers for Walt Disney's Lilo & Stitch that put the unconventional protagonist into iconic scenes from other recent Disney cartoons in order to show off how different he was from the standard Disney animated hero," Mendelson said in his report. "It's the same idea, as you couldn't ask for a more effective way to show off the obvious difference compared to the established Marvel superheroes as well as establish that connection."

"Beyond just being a clever gimmick, it is the kind of creative poster design that Marvel has a reputation for avoiding," he added. "This, along with that bullet-centric poster from a couple weeks ago, seems like they are trying to make up for the relatively generic initial theatrical poster from last month."

"Ant-Man," which tells the story of a hero that has the ability to "shrink in scale but increase in strength," will crawl into theaters July 17.
