5 Reasons You Should Check Out K-Pop Boy Band INFINITE

By Samantha Marie Lifson | June 13, 2015 06:30 PM EDT

There are infinite reasons why you should listen to INFINITE, but in honor of their fifth anniversary taking place earlier this week we'll limit ourselves to just five reasons why you should listen to INFINITE:

1. Logos
INFINITE's logo is the infinity sign. While that sounds like it would get dull and overused, INFINITE has a way of reimagining the symbol for each comeback in a way that always adds another level of excitement for their comebacks. Here's a progression of their logo from 2010 through 2015, ending with our-- the favorite winged one!

2. Sub units
INFINITE has two distinctive sub-unit with very different sounds. Fans wanting a hip hop fix can check out the smooth raps of Dongwoo and Hoya in INFINITE-H. INFINITE H's debut album also featured well-known Korean hip hop artists like Zion. T and Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, the fantastic vocals of TROY's Bumkey, and composing by Primary.

If hip hop is not what you're feeling, INFINITE-F's sweet sounds might be more your style. INFINITE-F includes L, Sungyeol, and Sungjong-- undoubtedly the faces (or pretty boys) of INFINITE. Having made their initial debut in Japan, INFINITE-F has a simple and melodic Japanese pop vibe to their music. Their cute style is bound to get your heart fluttering.

But of course we can’t forget about the “unemployed” sub-unit back made up of Woohyun and future INFINITE-H members Sungyeol and Sungjong. At the time, Dongwoo and Hoya were busy with INFINITE-H’s debut while Sung Gyu was in the middle of his solo promotions and L was acting; this left the other three members stuck in a cycle of eating, sleeping, practicing, and repeat. It’s safe to say we’re happy they’re not unemployed anymore!

3. Solos
In addition to INFINITE's diverse sub-unit activities, members Woohyun and Sung Gyu have shown their skills as soloists. Both singers have featured solos on both of INFINITE's albums. Sung Gyu also has two solo mini albums, focusing on the leader's sharp and passionate vocal style.

4. Dances
INFINITE is one of the best known dance idol groups in the K-pop world. With sharp and synchronized movements, even those who aren't fans of INFINITE can't help but admire their dancing abilities. INFINITE has even been known to rival SHINee with the intensity of their group dances. Don't believe us? Check out some of our favorites below:

5. Because it's INFINITE!
Over the past five years INFINITE have given their fans a range of retro-pop songs that both inspire and break hearts. Their range of vocal abilities and rap styles makes them a standout as a K-pop group; and though there song styles are relatively consistent, they never fail to impress with each comeback. Of course, we also can't forget to mention how versatile the members are as vocalists, dancers, and even actors. Is there anything the members of INFINITE can't do?

Happy Fifth Anniversary, INFINITE!
