Kim Jae Joong Leads in The Mid-Year KpopStarz Poll

The polls are now open and the second day of the KPopStarz Awards prove that veteran groups definitely have what it takes to dominate the charts.

At 24.83 percent, Shinhwa has a strong six percent lead over second place band, CNBLUE, in the category of Best K-Pop Group. Coming in at 18.76 percent CNBLUE is still a viable contender for first place but SM's ever-popular boy group, EXO, is hot on their heels. Coming in at 14.94 percent, EXO could very well overtake CNBLUE as there is still plenty of time to vote before the polls are closed.

Coming in at 11.8 percent, Big Bang is still very much in the running for Top Three, while TVXQ holds a steady fifth at 8.09 percent. From there the results taper off dramatically as boy groups BTS, Super Junior and INFINITE are all holding a steady 3 percent of the votes, with 2PM, GOT7 and BEAST each garnering around 2.

JYJ fans are out in full force as both Jaejoong and Yoochun hold the first and second slots in the category of Best K-Pop Artist. With a strong 47.79 percent of the votes Jaejoong is going to be hard to beat as bandmate Yoochun, coming in at second, holds a mere 15.53 percent of the votes. CNBLUE's leader, Jung Yong Hwa comes in third at 4.99 percent.

Junsu and U-Know Yunho are tied for fourth at 3.95 percent while Eric, at 3.45 percent holds a slight advantage over IU, who's coming in at 3.14 percent. BoA's 0.4 percent lead over G-Dragon indicates this is still anyone's game, as far as making it into the top ten but one does wonder, will anyone be able to dethrone Jaejoon in his iron-clad grip on first?

The battle for first is fierce in the category of Best K-Pop Song as at 18.74 percent, Jung Yong Hwa's "One Fine Day" holds a marginal lead over Shinhwa's "Sniper". At 18.01 percent, "Sniper" holds a 3 percent lead over EXO's "Call Me Baby" which is holding a steady third at 15.33 percent.

At 11.82 percent Big Bang's "Loser" holds its own at fourth while at 10.25 percent, Junsu's "Flower" comes in a fifth. From there the margins widen as BoA's "Kiss My Lips" holds 4.8 percent of the votes, giving her a solid hold on sixth. Coming in with 2.77 percent of the votes, BTS' "I Need U" holds a 0.7 percent lead over SHINee's "View" but Super Junior D & E's "Growing Pains", miss A "Only You" and SNSD's "Catch Me If You Can" are all hot on its heels.

With fourteen days left to cast your vote the final results are still anyone's guess so be sure to cast your vote daily. Who knows, maybe tomorrow your bias will be talking about your bias's hold on number one.
