The New Mexico Police released new details and a recording today about the plot to kill pop superstar Justin Beiber.

The police department released recordings of phone calls discussing the alleged plot to assassinate Beiber in detail.

Authorities say that a the phone calls were made by convicted killer and infatuated fan, Dana Martin, is currently serving a life sentence prison near Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was charged with the rape and murder of a teenage girl.

Martin made the call to his associates, Mark Staake and Tanner Ruane. Martin allegedly told his associates to carry out the plans to kill the singer.

The recordings of the phone call were obtained by Albuquerque ABC station KOAT 7.

In the recording, Martin asks, "Did he go over the Bieber thing with you?"

Ruane responds, "Nah. The way I like to work dude, I like to know as little as possible...He's gonna use one of the things you gave him, and then he's gonna take care of it."

Ruane went on to say, "We went and bought the hedge clippers," and asked for $5,000 for each kill.

Martin had given his associates detailed instructions for committing the crimes.

According to the police report, the men planned to use hedge clippers to castrate Bieber and his bodyguard. They then planned to suffocate the victims with a paisley scarf.

"Tie it really tight, and that cuts off all the oxygen, and then tie it in the back again, really tight. That seals the deal," Martin commanded.

Martin changed his mind at the last minute, and revealed his plot to kill the Canadian singer and Bieber's bodyguard to authorities.

The police foiled the alleged plot when the two associates, Staake and Ruane, took a wrong turn into Canada while travelling to the Beiber concert in New York City. Staake was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation, and Ruane was arrested later.
