Fox Co-Host Rape Remark Could Have Consequences: 'When Was The Last Time You Heard About A Rape On Campus?' Beckel Asks [VIDEO]

A Fox co-host made a remark about rape not existing on college campuses that could land him in some hot water.

"When was the last time you heard about a rape on campus?" Bob Beckel, a liberal co-host of Fox News' "The Five," asked his four co-hosts on Tuesday's show.

The four other hosts exploded in disagreement.

""What are you talking about?" co-host Eric Bolling fired back. "It's rampant."

"In particular, date rape on campus," co-host Dana Perino added.

Beckel still appeared incredulous that rapes occur on college campuses.

"A date rape, sure. But are you going to take out a gun and shoot your date?"

"If your date is a rapist, you shoot them," Fox co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle shot back.

The exchange occurred during a segment about gun control. Beckel seemed to be attempting to make the point that everyone being armed wouldn't stop date rapes on campus when he made the unfortunate statement.

Perhaps the rape remark was just a poor choice of words from the Fox co-host, but for the record, his facts are incorrect.

ABC News reports that 25 percent of college women will be victims of rape or attempted rape before they graduate within a four-year college period, according to the U.S. Justice Department.

Additionally, women between the ages of 16 to 24 will experience rape at a rate that's four times higher than the assault rate of all women.

But when was the last time you heard about a rape on campus?

Here is the video of the Fox co-host's rape remark:
