Lee Seung Gi Admits To Changing Song Title After Video Of EXID's Hani Went Viral

Lee Seung Gi revealed that he had to change the name of his new song because of EXID's Hani.

The singer-actor appeared on the June 17 episode of SBS's One Night of TV Entertainment. During the program, Lee Seung Gi discussed his latest comeback "And Goodbye" and his return to singing.

The reporter surprised Lee Seung Gi with a question about his relationship to EXID member Hani. Lee Seung Gi took it lightly though and verified that the interviewer was referring to his song titled "~Hani?" (since 'hani' means 'do you' in Korean).

"I wanted to make a 2015 version of Park Jin Young sunbae's (senior's) song 'Honey.' I wrote the lyrics of '~Hani?' with that in mind but then Hani became really popular. Because of this I had to add the tilde (~) and the question mark," Lee Seung Gi commented according to Daily Sports.

A fan-shot video of Hani (real name Ahn Hee Yeon) performing EXID's song "Up & Down" spread across the internet in November 2014, the popularity of which prompted the group to relaunch promotions for the track and thrust the group into the spotlight.

Lee Seung Gi released his sixth studio album And on June 10 and is currently promoting the title track "And Goodbye." In addition to "And Goodbye," and "~Hani? (Do You?)," And contains six other diverse tracks: "Breeze," "Love," "You And Me," "Friend," "Carrying A Backpack," and "All The Time We Spend Together." It is his first release after his musical hiatus of 2 years and 7 months.
