Firefly Music Festival 2013 Advance Tickets Sell Out Following Performance Lineup Announcement; Web Problems Plague Fans

Delaware's Firefly Music Festival sold out of "Early Bird" and advance general admission tickets a few hours after the online sale started on Thursday afternoon.

Tickets went on sale on Feb. 21 at noon EST. The news that advance tickets were sold out so quickly upset fans wanting to attend the festival's second year concert.

Fans had been trying for hours to access the Firefly Festival web site to purchase tickets, priced at $198 for "Early Bird" and $218 for general admission.

Now, attendees will be forced to buy the 'regular' three-day passes, priced at $238, if the passes are available online.

This afternoon, fans were having difficulty purchasing tickets on the Firefly Festival web site, according to Delaware Online

A message across the top of the site stated, "We are working on the problem. Hope to have the website working soon!"

Later, the message was updated to, "We are working on load capacity on our end by implementing a queue system to control the amount of..." before cutting off.

The Firefly Festival features big-name acts this year; organizers just released their band lineup yesterday, Feb. 20.

Vampire Weekend, Tom Petty, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foster the People are set to headline the festival's 2013 show.

Other performers will include the Lumineers, Grizzly Bear, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Public Enemy, Kendrick Lamar and Calvin Harris, according to Billboard.

The festival will take place from the 21st to 23rd of June at Delaware's 'The Woodlands' of Dover International Speedway.
