Roger Federer Wins Eighth Gerry Weber Open Title, Confident To Win Wimbledon Too?

Roger Federer now has eight titles in the Gerry Weber Open. He won his eight title on Sunday after defeating 45th ranked Andreas Seppi.

The game ended in scores of seven to one and six to four in favor of Roger Federer, according to ESPN. With this, he holds a record of eight titles in the Gerry Weber Open.

"Of course it's a special moment for me, to win here for the eighth time before Wimbledon," Federer said as quoted by ESPN.

"It doesn't happen without making an impression," he added.

Seppi, who was the first Italian to fight at the Gerry Weber Open finals, was a sport despite his defeat.

"He played better at the decisive moments and deserved to win in the end," he explained after Roger Federer bagged another win at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle.

"I'll take some good memories with me," he continued.

With this win, Roger Federer reportedly was feeling confident for his text tournament - Wimbledon.

"I hope this is a good omen for Wimbledon," he told reported as told by CNN.

"I was the first to win Halle and go on to win Wimbledon, which I think for the tournament was really important for them to show all the other players around the world that Halle is the perfect preparation for Wimbledon," he was also quoted in saying.

Roger Federer lost what would have been a great addition to this Tennis titles last year when Novak Djokovic defeated him in the 2014 Wimbledon finals.

"He is the champion, the world number one and plays well on grass," Federer told of Djokovic as quoted by ABC Australia.

The 2015 Wimbledon will being on June 29 and Federer apparently was hoping to do well as well in the tournament as he did in the Gerry Weber Open.

"2013 was difficult, 2014 was better and now 2015 after this week is even better and I hope I can keep it up," he was quoted by BBC.
