Girls' Generation's Tiffany Gives Korea's New Beauty Technology A Try For 'Heart A Tag'

On a recent episode of Mnet's "Heart A Tag," host and Girls' Generation member Tiffany tested out South Korea's latest beauty-technology craze, WayWearable.

WayWearable uses environmental conditions to analyze your skin and then connects to the corresponding phone app with the results.

After testing the compact, Tiffany was surprised to find WAY classified her as having the skin of a 24-year-old – a year below her actual age. Along with Tiffany’s skin age, the WAY app also show the UV index and humidity conditions relative to the user. Because of its compact size, WAY is a made portable to prepare for skin analysis at any time.

South Korean beauty products are often touted for their quality and, especially in recent years, have grown quite popular outside of the country's borders. Successful Korean cosmetic distributing company, Memebox, hosts some of these highly coveted products and it looks like WAY might be their next venture.

Memebox recently purchased 300 units of WAY compacts which could be distributed through Memebox channels, once delivery is made around November 2015. WAY is one of the fastest growing beauty start-ups in South Korea right now and is expected to expand even more in the coming month. WAY has been shown support from Memebox - a now multi-million dollar business that was also once a beauty start-up – WAY is likely on its way to becoming more than just domestic commodity.

WAY is only getting more exposure after having been featured on Mnet’s "Heart A Tag" showcasing its advanced capabilities of skin analysis. As many South Korean idols and celebrities are concerned with good skincare, perhaps we’ll be introduced to more skin tip and tech in the future!
