Rush Limbaugh Claims 'Left Has Won': Radio Host Explains He's 'Ashamed Of America' Because 'The Left Has Beaten Us' [AUDIO]

Rush Limbaugh believes the 'left has won.'

During his Friday radio broadcast, Limbaugh expanded on the comment he had made the previous day that he was "ashamed of my country," by adding that the left has won through misinformation.

"The purpose of this program has been to create as large a body of informed voting citizens as possible," Rush said on Friday's show. "While we've been largely and profoundly successful at that, the left has beaten us. They have created far more low-information, unaware, uneducated people than we've been able to keep up with."

Limbaugh believes the left's dominance in all areas of culture is too much for conservatives to compete with.

"If a majority of people are educated and informed and know what's going on, liberalism and these powerful forces that have ill intent to the country can be defeated," Limbaugh said. "Yet despite overwhelming success in creating more and more people who are informed and active and involved, the left has control of the education system, control of the pop culture, movies, TVs, books, music. We've just been outnumbered."

Limbaugh's comment about being ashamed of America on Thursday's show was provoked by Congress's impending sequestration.

"Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country," Limbaugh said. "To have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way its being is--it just makes me ashamed.

If Congress doesn't avoid sequestration, automatic federal spending cuts of $1.2 trillion take effect on March 1.

Former Republican presidential hopeful and recent Fox News hire Herman Cain supports Limbaugh's view that Republicans shopuld be ashamed.

"We don't have leaders in elected positions, we don't have a leader in the White House, we have a politician that is more concerned about popularity and he intentionally and deliberately, along with the Democrats, deceived the American people," Cain said on Sean Hannity's television show Thursday night. "That's what Rush is saying he's embarrassed about. It is outright deception and I don't have a problem with what he said."

Cain added that the left may have won the most election, but it was a close race.

"Look, 51 percent of the voters elected Barack Obama. Forty nine percent of us are not that stupid. That's what [Rush] was saying. So, don't throw all of us into that pie because the 51 percent put him back in office."

No word from Rush on what exactly the left has won.
