BTS Members Dish About Pre-Debut Name Changes During 'Yaman TV' Appearance

What if BTS (also known as 'Bangtan Boys') had not been named BTS?

The popular boy group appeared on the June 22 broadcast of Mnet's Yaman TV. During the program, BTS revealed that 'Bangtan Boys' was not the only name being considered for the group. Other names like "Big Kids," named after the group's agency Big Hit Entertainment, and "Young Nation" were also considered for the group's title according to Newsen. Member J-Hope jokingly added, "I like 'Bangtan Boys' a lot better compared to these other names."

The group's name was not the only title that was different before debut. Members Jimin and Jungkook also revealed their would-be stage names on the program.

Newsen also reported that the MCs asked the two boys why they were the only ones in the group to use their real names. "Originally they told me my stage name would be 'Baby G,' so I told them I'd use my real name instead," Jimin replied first.

"I had the stage name 'Seagull,'" Jungkook continued. The word "seagull" in English sounds similar to an offensive remark in Korean, which prompted the MCs to joke about the comparison.

What do you think of these other names? Would you still listen to 'Bangtan Boys' if they were called something different?
