A new Spider-man cast this 2015 has been found and his name is Tom Holland.

According to a report on Variety, although a standalone film for the new Spider-Man flick will be released on July 28, 2017, fans of the series will already get a glimpse of Holland in a Spidey suit as early as next year.

Holland will apparently star in "Captain America: Civil War" that is coming out in 2016 but in a cameo role only as a way of introducing the web hero in the Marvel Universe.

Before Holland was chosen as part of the 2015 Spider-man cast, contenders for the role were flown to the set of "Captain America: Civil War" to test how they would interact and fit with the other actors of the film. Among the stars that reportedly fought Holland for the role were Asa Butterfield, Charlie Rowe and Matthew Lintz.

In the end though, Holland was chosen for the role as revealed by Marvel.

"For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Tom's screen tests were special," Sony Pictures Motion Pictures Group Chairman Tom Rothman explained.

"Sony, Marvel, Kevin and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world," producer Amy Pascal shared.

"With Tom, we've found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man's story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe," she added.

Prior to bagging the 2015 Spider-Man cast role, Holland starred in films like "The Impossible" alongside Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, according to USA Today. He will also appear alongside Thor himself Chris Hemsworth in the upcoming movie "Into the Heart of the Sea."

Jon Watts, meanwhile, has been chosen to direct the new Spider-Man film.

"I've worked with a number of up-and-coming directors who have gone on to be superstars and believe that Jon is just such an outstanding talent," Rothman said about the chosen director for the new film.
