The charges reportedly stem from an incident two weeks ago where Ross allegedly pistol-whipped someone who was working on a property the rapper purchased in Fayette County. The home was previously owned by Evander Holyfield.

was arrested in Fayette County, Ga. The rapper's bodyguard, whose name wasn't released, faces the same charges.

"On June 7, 2015 the Fayette County Sheriff's Office initiated an investigation regarding an assault which occurred at a residence on Highway 279 in Fayetteville, Ga," according to a release from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

"The investigation revealed William Roberts and Nadrian James as suspects responsible for the assault. On June 24, 2015, members of the U.S. Marshalls Southeastern Regional Task Force executed arrest warrants on William Roberts and Nadrian James. They were arrested in Fayetteville, Georgia without incident."

This is the second time this month, Rick Ross is in the Fayette County jail.

Local news station WSB-TV reported that Ross and his bodyguard were arrested on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault. Ross and his bodyguard were charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.

On June 10, Ross was arrested for marijuana possession and charged with a misdemeanor.

Details of the incident or incidents that led to the arrest are still forthcoming.

GCL reports that Ross was arrested on a traffic violation and was released from jail later that night. Ross was arrested for marijuana possession in Louisiana in 2011.

Ross and his bodyguard will be held at the Fayette County jail for an initial appearance and a bond hearing.
