2013 Oscars: Host Seth MacFarlane Wows Crowd With Opening Act Featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum & More

The 39-year-old creator of Family Guy made his hosting debut at the 2013 Academy Awards tonight.

MacFarlane joins the ranks of such iconic hosts as Billy Crystal, Hugh Jackman, Chris Rock, Whoppie Goldberg, and David Letterman.

He spoke with Bryan Alexander of USA today about his nerves and how he plans to stay calm.

"They say look and find a friendly face in the audience. I'm probably going to find Denzel Washington or maybe Joaquin Phoenix," he says with a straight face. "Actually, I am very fond of my (Siamese fighting) fish, and I'm going to take the tank and put it right in the front row. If I get nervous, I'll look at the betta."

The no holds barred comic took to the stage and introduced some of the films that are up for best picture, like Argo, directed by Ben Affleck. MacFarlane poked fun at Affleck saying "this movie is so top secret the director is unknown to the Academy."

He also called Django Unchained a good date movie for Chris Brown, to which the crowd responded with an audible "oh!"

After that a large T.V screen came down to revile William Shatner as Captain Kirk telling MacFarlane he was the worst host in Oscar history.

In an attempt to prove Kirk wrong Macfarlane began a series of musical numbers that included Charlize Theron, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliff and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

He also did a number in which he lists a number of movies in which actresses show their breasts and makes out with Sally Field.

So what will the headlines read tomorrow? Seth MacFarlane can go down as a funny and entertaining Oscar host for 2013.
