The 2013 Academy Awards aired tonight and everyone wanted to know who would take home the award for best picture of the year. It was a tough race at 85th annual Academy Awards with nine films nominated this year.

"Armour" is the story of Anne, a retired music teacher dealing with the incapacitating effects of two strokes. She and her husband of sixty years have to deal with how much their lives have changed.

"Argo" takes place in 1979 Tehran, when six Americans take refuge at the Canadian Embassy and need to be rescued in order to go home. Argo has been sweeping away the awards season; it is a front-runner for the 2013 Oscar win.

"Beasts of the Southern Wild" is set in Louisiana. Young Hushpuppy and her father live outside society's modern conventions. The little girl's resourcefulness is put to the test when floodwaters threaten her home.

"Beasts of the Southern Wild" offers up the 2013 Academy Award's youngest nominee, 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis. She walked the red carpet in an Armani gown, carrying a puppy purse.

"Django Unchained" stars Jamie Foxx who plays a former slave, trying to find his wife with the help of a white bounty hunter, Christoph Waltz.

Foxx took to Twitter earlier tonight saying "I feel very lucky right about now."

"Les Miserables" takes place in France during the revolution. It starts Oscar contenders Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, as well as being nominated for several other Oscars at the 2013 awards.

"Life of Pi" follows a boy who is set a drift in a lifeboat after a storm capsizes the ship he is traveling on. His only company as he drifts in the ocean, a Bengal tiger.

"Lincoln," another major player in the 2013 Oscars race, follows the ill-fated 16th President of the United States as he seeks to put an end to slavery and the civil war. Lincoln is leading the Oscars with 12 nominations.

"Silver Linings Playbook" stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, who plays a man just, released into his parents care after treatment for bipolar disorder. He becomes friends with the troubled young Jennifer Lawrence, who rocked the 2013 Oscars in a stunning white Dior Couture gown.

"Zero Dark Thirty" spans the 10 years long manhunt to catch and kill Osama Bin Laden. Another 2013 Oscar favorite the film was well received by fans and critics it was not well received by the US government for depicting scenes of torture in an effort to find Bin Laden.

The winner of the 2013 Oscar for best picture was "Argo." It won 3 Oscars tonight. A nervous Ben Afflack thanked everyone he could possibly thank in one breath before the music came on to play him off, including his "friends in Iran and his wife who he doesn't normally associate with Iran."
