Can't wait for "Vampire Diaries" and spin-off "Originals" to return? Well now you can count down the days: the CW just announced the premiere and release dates for "Vampire Diaries" season 7 and "Originals" season 3! Read on for spoilers about the premieres!

According to Variety.com, "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" will premiere on Oct. 8.

TVLine.com reports Damon won't have a love interest right away when "Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs.

"The problem is that, as you said, [Damon] is still so madly in love with [Elena]," executive producer Caroline Dries said. It would feel false for him to meet someone else and have sparks and fall in love. The viewers also wouldn't embrace it; any girl who comes close to Damon gets clawed at with their opinions, so it's not something we're going to jump into as writers right away. He's got to be with himself for a bit, and his love story will be based back on Stefan."

Meanwhile, Caroline will have to deal with Stefan after the premiere date.

"In Season 7, [Caroline's] going to try and figure out if she and Stefan can actually do this," Dries said, referring to the fact that Stefan dropped the L-bomb in the finale!

"As we break Alaric's story [for Season 7], we're thinking, "How would you actually feel if that happened? How would you get over it?" And we decided you don't get over it. He's deeply wounded and he needs Damon, who also lost the love of his life, at least for 60 or 70 years. He's sort of the one person who can relate to him most. He's going to rest on Damon's shoulder, and we're going to find them growing up together in the premiere. There's no fix to what happened to Alaric. He's going to be a mess when he starts the new season," she added.

Meanwhile, for "The Originals" season 3 release date, get ready to see a very "pissed" Hayley, actress Phoebe Tonkin said.

"I think Klaus had better sire some nannies," she said. "Hayley's not going to be able to forgive him easily for what he's done. Even if he did it for the good of his baby, I don't think he did it in the right way. He should have let Hayley know that's what he was doing so she could have been part of the plan. But he didn't do that, so now, [she's] pissed."
