Girls' Generation member Sooyoung gave an encouraging shout-out to the rookie girl group Playback, telling her more than 2 million followers on Instagram that she liked their new self-titled track.

Sooyoung uploaded a photo which showed her autographed copy of Playback's single album and said: "I like this song." The popular idol even linked to the group's music video.

Fans noted Sooyoung's generosity in promoting younger groups even outside her SM Entertainment family.

Playback is composed of four members, including main vocalist Woorim who gained fame for joining Mnet's singing talent show I Can See Your Voice. The group is rounded out by leader and lead vocalist Yen, rapper Hayoung and vocalist Soyun.

Sooyoung's public endorsement of Playback seems to have helped in driving buzz for the rookie group.

In the group's "Playback" music video, the top-ranked commenter wrote: "Sooyoung being a publicist" which suggested that a lot of Girls' Generation fans had flocked to the video because of her recommendation.

New Playback fans also confirmed Sooyoung's assessment that the song was likable.

"Here because of Sooyoung! But wow, I'm so glad that I clicked the YouTube link. This song is so catchy and fun, it's gonna be playing back in my head all day. Can't wait to see more of them."
