Reality TV star, former model, and bestselling author Brandi Glanville nearly fell out of her dress at last night’s Academy Awards ceremony and red carpet. Glanville is currently on the ‘New York Times’ bestseller list with her book "Drinking And Tweeting."

There was initially confusion about why the star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill” appeared early on the Oscars red carpet with other TV stars Olivia Munn and Kristin Chenoweth. Some fans wondered if they were perhaps viewing the Emmy Awards instead of the Oscars.

Brandi Glanville herself seemed unsure that she should be at the Academy Awards ceremony, tweeting, “Chilling at the…Oscars…Um yep!”

In addition to her presence at the movie awards, many questioned Glanville’s choice of dress for the Oscars.

The 40-year-old took to the red carpet in a nude mermaid-looking dress that barely covered the reality television star’s chest. The creamy white floor-length gown was slit to show one leg, and had a floral embellished train.

Glanville has stated that she designed the dress herself. She told RumorFix, “I’m designing my own dress for the Oscars with my designer from My BrandB line. It’s not done yet so I’m a little worried. Fingers crossed!”

She appeared on the red carpet as a fashion correspondent for the ‘On The Red Carpet live stream show’, which is ironic given the widespread criticism of her own dress by fashion correspondents.

Twitter reacted against the dress, prompting comments like, “Brandi Glanville's dress looks like a fashion disaster waiting to happen. Wait, it already is a fashion disaster. (lipstick is pretty, tho)” and “Worst dressed at the #Oscars by FAR... @BrandiGlanville! Why are reality stars even at the Oscars anyway? Yuck!”

Glanville is well known as a member of the cast of reality show ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’. She recently revealed that she might write a sequel to her bestselling book "Drinking And Tweeting."

She stated, “I have had a lot of thoughts about what it could be. So I was actually at a meeting with my publishers yesterday in New York and we were talking about some different ideas.”

Glanville became famous after her husband, Eddie Cibrian, left her for singer LeAnn Rimes.
