Epik High's Tablo Explains Why He Almost Left 'Show Me The Money'

Epik High's Tablo almost didn't return for Show Me the Money 4.

On June 24, Tablo shared that he wasn't planning on returning as a judge during Mnet's Show Me the Money 4 press conference. He shared the controversies on the program as the reason why he thought about stepping down as a judge. "Last year, Masta Wu's 'No No' incident and the hip hop mildang girl both happened on our team. At that time I couldn't sleep well," Tablo explained, according to Sports DongA.

The 'No No' incident refers to Masta Wu's critique of rapper Vasco on last year's Show Me the Money 3. In response to Vasco's rock-inspired screamo and head banging Mastu Wu replied, "That's no no." The phrase exploded in popularity over Korea, making Masta Wu a meme.

Additionally, the "hip hop mildang girl" refers to controversial contestant Yook Ji Dam who called herself the "mildang (push and pull)" of hip hop, saying she plays "mildang" with the beat. Her line also became a joke amongst Show Me the Money fans and was even parodied by performer San-E.

At the Show Me the Money 4 press conference Tablo continued on to say that he was planning on taking a family vacation instead of returning for season four. "But when the show concluded and everything wrapped up nicely I realized that controversies are temporary. In this sense, the show resembles hip hop," he explained as his reason why he chose to stay for the next season.

The first episode of Show Me the Money 4 aired on June 26 at 11PM KST.
