Robin The Boy Wonder Killed Off; Beloved Batman Sidekick Damien Wayne Killed In Comic Book Set To Release Wednesday

Robin the Boy Wonder, the beloved Batman sidekick, will be killed off in an upcoming comic book to be published Wednesday, Feb. 27 by DC Comics.

The publisher has confirmed that Robin's death is imminent, according to the New York Post.

According to the paper, "the shocking demise of the Dark Knight's sidekick will first appear in issue No. 8 of the offshoot title 'Batman Incorporated'."

Robin the Boy Wonder's alter ego is Damian Wayne. Damian is the son of Bruce Wayne, a character whose alter ego is Batman.

Damian Wayne is Bruce Wayne's illegitimate child with Talia, the daughter of Bruce Wayne's arch enemy Ra's al Ghul. The relationship between Batman and Robin has been contentious.

Morrison added, "It's all about the family and the family going to hell," but he ensured the Post that Batman will eventually recruit a new partner.

Reportedly, Robin will go down in a blaze of glory battling a fierce and ruthless enemy.

"He saves the world. He does his job as Robin," writer Grant Morrison told the New York Post. "He dies an absolute hero." Robin will die in a fight with an assassin, who is actually the clone of Robin's DNA.

This is not the first time a 'Robin the Boy Wonder' has been killed. "He is the first to die at the height of his popularity with fans," the paper claims.

There is, however, some message to take away from the death of Robin the Boy Wonder.

Morrison told his interpretation of Robin's death to The Post, "Robin's death, he said, will illustrate how parents lose sight of their kids when they fight."
