Mamamoo Currently The Only Korean Female Artist In Billboard’s Top 10 World Albums Chart As 'Pink Funky' Clinches Number 7 Spot

K-pop girl group Mamamoo is the only South Korean female artist currently found in the top 10 for Billboard’s World Albums Chart, ranking at number seven with their new EP, “Pink Funky.”

The group entered this chart just one week after the release of their EP, taking them one step closer to global stardom.

Back in January, Billboard writer Jeff Benjamin highlighted Mamamoo as one of the top five K-pop artists to watch this year.

“It feels like only a matter of time until the cool quartet have a signature song that cements them amongst the top girl groups,” Benjamin wrote.

Last Friday, the group released their new song, “Um Oh Ah Yeah” and began to hit the South Korean pop promotion circuit.

YouTube viewer Joshua Jones claims he had never heard of Mamamoo, but became a fan after watching the music video for the group's single “Um Oh Ah Yeh" released on June 19, along with the rest of the "Pink Funky" EP.

“This is my first Mamamoo video, I never got into them, but I am very impressed and entertained now,” he wrote in a comment posted to the official music video. “I love it!”
