Flood at Oscars: Women's Restroom Toilet Leak Floods Dolby Theater Before the Show
A leaky toilet in the women's restroom caused the second floor of the Dolby Theater to be blocked on Sunday as half dozen workers tackled the min-flood just 45 minutes before the 85th Academy Awards began.
A small group of workers in "black pants and suite jackets" according to the LA Times, "used wet-vacs and squeegees to soak up the water from the green-and-tan patterned carpets."
Various reported that a water pipe burst was to blame for the incident while attendees and guests were asked to relocate to the first floor from the second-floor bar nearby. Many alleged the leak created quite a stink.
After the mess was cleared, the official Oscars ceremony continued as the attendees were ushered into the auditorium to avoid the water as employees scrambled to get the mess cleaned.
